Executive Coaching is a rapidly developing field. So it is difficult at times to define it because it is constantly evolving each and every day. Executive coaching involves partnering with the executive to achieve goals and produce results not only for the executive both professionally and personally, but to create value for the organization for whom the executive works. In addition, one gains access to having all direct reports and teams be fully engaged and empowered to deliver unprecedented levels of performance. The main difference between “Personal” and “Executive” coaching is that in personal coaching the focus is on the individual where as executive coaching focuses on the results of the whole organization as well as the executive himself.

In Executive Coaching, a major process is in the training and development of the Executive himself or herself to be a leader that inspires and leads their team and organization to achieve both short and long-term organizational goals. It is an experiential approach to training that impacts the Executive as well as the organization in real time instead of training methods that have been proven to produce little to no results. However, it is a personally tailored process that directly addresses that Executive’s needs.  

Executive Coaching in the broadest sense creates new patterns of thinking and acting that produce breakthroughs in individual and organizational effectiveness. It also develops new approaches to feedback-driven leadership. In this process, the Executive creates new goals and actions based on the feedback and contribution of the teams he builds. In this method, direct reports have “Buy-in” in the creation and process of projects, and therefore, have a stake in the results. This type of coaching works best when the Executive and the coach partner with other members of the organization, treating each other as equal members of the team. Then they create a firm belief in the integrity and responsibility of the team and the dedication to the united outcome. To be succinct, Executive Coaching is the process of training the Executive to “Be” the coach.

Entrepreneurial Coaching

Entrepreneurial Coaching is much like Executive Coaching in that it involves partnering with the entrepreneur to achieve goals and produce results not only for the entrepreneur professionally but also personally. Team Management Coaching

Team Management Coaching is actually a subset of the skills inside both Executive Coaching and Entrepreneurial Coaching. Team Leadership Coaching is valuable to anyone that relies on creating and inspiring their team to produce projected results as well as unpredictable results beyond those expectations. In effective team management there is actually very little management. This is because the nature of the Transformational approach to leadership creates high levels of ownership within the team itself. The result is a team that is more a set of equals all committed and dedicated to producing the result the team initially sets out to achieve.
